During a 24 hour period, several other Catholic Churches on the North Shore of Staten Island, home to a very large Hispanic population, held Masses, processions and a Torch Run. They included Our Lady of Good Counsel, Our Lady of Mt Carmel-St Benedicta-St Mary of the Assumption, Sacred Heart, and St Roch-St Adalbert. Our Lady of Guadalupe is a national symbol of Mexico, and is also the patron saint of Mexico, Guatamala, El Salvador, and parts of California.
