One has died while three more were injured in Brooklyn late Saturday morning.
Tragedy struck when two boats collided just before noon in the Gerritsen Creek Marina. An unidentified 58 year-old male was flung from the smaller craft and was discovered unconscious by the FDNY’s Marine Unit. Life saving measures were taken on-scene, but the man was later pronounced dead at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn. The two other individuals aboard the same craft, a 56 year-old male and 45 year-old female, were transported to the same hospital where they were listed as in stable condition.
Eyewitnesses allege that the smaller vessel may have been speeding prior to the collision. There is no further information at this time.
